Job Description

We are supporting our Client with the appointment of a Student Recruitment Team Leader. This role is a permanent role, based in Aberdeen.

In this role you will play a key role in forming and then leading this small team as they engage with enquirers and applicants and help inform their decision to enrol at the educational establishment. Applicants have a wealth of options available to them; your team’s role is to encourage them to choose us.

You will spend most of your time working with the Head of Student Recruitment and Admissions, planning, implementing and managing a programme of initiatives to convert enquirers and applicants into enrolled students. You’ll ensure increased conversion rates from enquiry to application and offer to enrolment, ultimately being responsible for delivering increased student numbers and revenue.

You will plan, write and implement enquiry and applicant communications, ensuring follow up nurture tracks are in place, and constantly developed and evolving in line with your team feedback, sector or client’s  developments and new as well as the nature of enquiries received. These will be applicants and enquirers from across the globe with differing language capabilities.

The Client are looking for evidence that you have worked in a customer focussed environment where the emphasis is on providing clear and accurate information and guidance by email, phone and /or face to face. A sales through service ethos will be a huge benefit. You'll back this up with strong administration skills, good working knowledge of databases and spreadsheets and accurate data input skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and inspire the Conversion Team to develop greater understanding and knowledge, sharing best practice and providing support and advice to raise the quality of University conversion
  • Meeting University set targets from volume of team activity on a    daily/weekly basis to conversion rates and student
  • Liaise and work closely with all relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure student recruitment requirements are factored into all enquiry and conversion activities, evidenced and fed back through regular and timely reporting, fostering an environment of
  • Plan and implement effective conversion activities designed to optimise conversion at key stages in the student recruitment cycle, from enquiry to pre-application to application, offer to acceptance and acceptance to
  • Provide direct reports with training and development in both their knowledge of Client, their courses and support services as well as the applicant cycle and
  • Provide management with insightful and accurate reporting on the results of such conversion activity as well as providing Student Recruitment and Admissions colleagues with market insight gleaned from such
  • Proactively identify and create new communications or updates required, based on your teams feedback and conversations with enquirers and applicants, feeding in emerging themes of virtual events and calls.
  • Coach your team on the effectiveness of their calls from a customer service and sales perspective and provide regular
  • Support the team during the period of enrolment by assisting students through the process.
  • On occasion represent the University at external recruitment events across the UK where necessary.

Essential Requirements

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent.

Knowledge and skills

Proven line management experience of customer service teams. Knowledge of working with databases and web-based systems.

 Experience

  • Driving teams to deliver to set SLAs and/or targets as set by the
  • Confident in using Microsoft Office g. Word, Excel and Outlook.

 Desirable Requirements

  • Experience of working in a Higher Education
  • Contact centre experience, ideally using power dialler
  • Providing senior management with MI and reporting/analysis.
  • Understanding of the UCAS and/ or other college and university admissions
