Job Description

Our client has an excellent opportunity for a QHSE Advisor in Aberdeen, this is a permanent position.

Please note experienced QHSE Administrators/Coordinators’ may also be considered for this vacancy.

Responsibilities:

  • To ensure the organisation complies with all applicable legislative and corporate governance
  • To implement industry best practice and develop management systems to achieve excellent QHSE performance
  • Plan and undertake a variety of audit and monitoring functions to establish that safe and best practice is implemented in the work assigned
  • Assist Senior Management in ensuring competence and appropriate training for all members of staff in accordance with relevant procedures and maintain competency files
  • Active participation in Health and safety and Environmental meetings, management review meetings, Risk Assessments and audits both internal and external
  • Provide QHSE support during operational incidents and subsequent reporting and investigation
  • Prepare documentation and carry out Inductions/Re-Inductions for personnel
  • Review existing company QHSE systems framework including their respective standards, policies, processes and associated forms
  • Interpret, recommend and implement improvements to the QHSE framework and their respective standards, policies, processes and associated forms
  • Created an audit schedule to review QHSE specific policies and procedures on a regular basis
  • Supervise and assist company and third party personnel engaged in QHSE audits or reviews
  • Obtain feedback from company and client personnel to evaluate effectiveness of QHSE performance and implement improvements where applicable
  • Compile and analyse statistical data for presentation to management
  • Maintain and support the use of the company Intranet to ensure QHSE is available throughout the organisation and is in a controlled system
  • Ensure continual improvement throughout QHSE management in a ‘realistic’ and focussed manner
  • Review and ensure FPAL registration is kept up to date
  • Review and ensure UVDB registration is kept up to date
  • Review and ensure Safe contractor registration is kept up to date
  • Review and ensure all certification and legal compliance documents are maintained
  • Ensure that all contracts with respect to health and safety, environmental and waste disposal are maintained and executed in accordance with agreed terms and conditions
  • Ensure Fire Wardens, First Aiders and Safety Representatives are appointed and receive relevant training and advised of their roles and responsibilities
  • Procurement of PPE supplies for the Company
  • Administration of company Training & Development plan
  • Ensure all accidents, incidents, near misses and hazards are immediately reported and relevant paperwork is completed

In order to be considered for this opportunity you must be able to demonstrate:

  • NEBOSH qualification - preferred
  • Knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001 & OHAS18001
  • Knowledge of Risk Assessment Management
  • Knowledge of Incident Investigation
  • Knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
