Our client is seeking a Head of Procurement to join their Aberdeen team, offering an exciting chance to lead procurement and supply chain management initiatives.
In this role, you'll play a crucial role in aligning procurement with budgets, improving cost-effectiveness, and ensuring regulatory compliance. As the primary liaison for vendor engagements and contracts, your contribution will be essential in driving operational excellence.
Accountabilities
- Oversee the management of SOP522, Vendor Selection & Contracting process
- Manage, train, and support any staff assigned this activity
- Lead all procurement activities pertaining to both trial and business requirements
- Develop the Procurement Function in support of the strategic business plan
- Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
- Manage strategic relationship with key vendors
- Hold regular performance / contract reviews with key vendors
- Collaborate with vendor managers to obtain full clarity of scope requirements/expectations from vendors
- Support vendor managers in tracking performance and ensure service is within scope
- Manage and report on all Procurement activities from budget definition to trial closure
- Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
- Oversee the management of contracts
- Act as a point of escalation for all vendor activities
- Analyse and recommend cost and time efficiencies
- Oversee the management of the business section of the TMF & SOF
- Any other tasks requested by the Legal Function and Senior Leadership Team in Aberdeen
- Adhere to the specifications outlined in the Trial Master File (TMF) and Sponsor Oversight File (SOF) of the organization.
- Perform all job-related tasks in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS) of the company and relevant regulatory and guideline standards.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline, e.g. supply chain management, logistics or business administration
Experience:
- Proven working experience in the Procurement field
- Proven experience in contract negotiation
Skills/Knowledge:
- Strong negotiation and networking
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise
multiple tasks
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (SharePoint, Word, Excel, Access,
PowerPoint, Visio)
- Commercially astute with good analytical skills and detail oriented
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to review and suggest improvement to current processes
