Well Op's Offshore Safety Advisors x 2 - Aberdeen

We have an opportunity for an experienced Well Op’s Offshore Safety Advisor to join our Operator client in Aberdeen on a contract basis.

This role will start in January/February 2019 for an initial 12 months on a 3/3 rotation.

Job responsibilities / requirements are below.

The candidates must be able to:

• Provide guidance and advice to rig personnel to remain compliant with all legislation regarding Health and Safety

• Coach and mentor rig personnel in Health and Safety matters

• Provide HSE input and expertise to incident investigations

• Have a working knowledge of well operations, semi-submersible and jack-up rig operations

• Be familiar with active safety monitoring programmes and risk assessment activities

• Undertake offshore audits • Be NEBOSH general certificate, IOSH qualified or equivalent

• Proactively liaise with and support the offshore safety representatives

• Provide KPI data and updates to onshore for Corporate Reporting purposes

The candidates must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role on semi-submersible and jack-up drilling rigs.

Job Description:

Assisting the Drilling Supervisor in all HSE related aspects on the rig including Well Operations Area but not limited to:

• Witness Critical Operations – Heavy Lifts, Casing Operations, Skidding Operations and Anchor handling Operations etc.

• Brief and coach teams in the critical aspects of personnel safety and environmental protection included in operations programs and look-ahead

• Perform constant safety walks around the Well Operations Area to assess the level of awareness and compliance of rig teams.

• Conduct incident investigations for all drilling and well related events report to onshore HSE advisor accordingly

• Auditing Assurance:

• Audit main critical job Risk Assessments.

• Conduct Audits in accordance with Drilling Rig Audit procedure

• Perform site checks, push for continuous improvement of risk assessments and TBT

• Review and verify compliance of Life Saving Rules

• Deliver information sessions, around given Health safety and Environment topics or themes SIMOPS:

• Witness work in “Well Operations Area” and assist Drilling & Completion Supervisor in checking for compliance with SIMOPS procedures. HSE compliance:

• Perform “drilling” familiarization scope to new arrivals on the platform.

• Ensure that all Safety Tools are fully utilized by all personnel to prevent incidents from occurring and/or escalation (in conjunction with drilling contractor: motivated team leaders, etc.)

• Actively participate in rig weekly safety meetings.

• Participate in Morning and Evening meetings as required.

• Actively participate to Toolbox talks / Pre Tour Meetings.

• Participate and/or lead hazard hunts with the drilling contractor.

• Expected to “stop the job” when any operation is identified as being carried out below required safety standards.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience working in wells related activities.

• Previous Oil and Gas Operator experience preferred but not essential

• Be NEBOSH general certificate, IOSH qualified or equivalent

KEY WORK AREAS:

• Service outboard and inboard diesel and petrol Fast Rescue Craft

• Repair outboard and inboard diesel and petrol Fast Rescue Craft

• Carry out inflatable & fibre glass repairs to rescue boats when required

• Deliveries to and collections of items from our fleet of vessels in Aberdeen Harbour

• General duties in our Rescue Boat workshop and on board our vessels while in port

• Any other reasonable task requested by your line manager, senior manager or director

QUALIFICCATIONS/TRAINING

• Standard Grade pass or equivalent in Math’s and English

• Time served Mechanic

• Full driving licence

• Computer literate to a basic standard

Responsibilities

• To work as part of a team supporting ongoing Document Management (DM) work – either corporately or on a project. This includes all document management activities required to meet the needs of the onshore and offshore

• Process all documentation received in DMG in accordance with prescribed matrices and within timescales

• To process all types of design documents in accordance to agreed procedures or work instructions

• Perform prescribed quality check on all documents prior to processing

• To accurately enter and update information, approved etc by formal transmittals be e-mail templates

• Accurately allocate and control the numbering of documents and drawings (as required)

• Assist in completing requests, searches and queries as requested by any project personnel

• Complete each task – process, transmit, attach electronic files in EDMS and do hard copy filing before starting next task

Role Requirements

• Educated to Standard Grade Level (pref to include Technical/Engineering, English, Science, and Math’s)

• Experienced in working in an engineering project group or document management group

• Experience in document management activities

• Experienced in processing design documentation

• Experienced user of electronic document management systems

• Experience in working to departmental and project procedures

• Experience in working in Oil & Gas environment

• Understanding of electronic file production and retention

• Capable of processing Design documents in accordance with project procedures

Mechanical Support Engineer - Aberdeen

Oil and gas operator currently have an opening for a Mechanical Support Engineer to join their team for a 6 month contract role based in Aberdeen.

The Senior Mechanical Maintenance Support Engineer provides first line asset engineering support to the offshore maintenance delivery team with the aim of ensuring the execution of effective maintenance and repair activities on behalf of the Offshore Operations Manager

Accountabilities

• Ensure that discipline specific engineering work remains within budget

• Provide discipline input to the 28 and 90 day asset planning process

• Provide discipline guidance and engineering endorsement to proposed changes to PMRs within the SAP CMMS

• Provide recommendations for critical spares stock levels and assist in optimising the asset inventory

• Act as liaison with other disciplines, vendor representatives, and manufacturers.

• Ensure vendors are mobilised on time to meet the asset planning schedule and that vendors mobilise fully prepared to execute scopes of work on time and within agreed budget

• Assist with the resolution of operational problems, including participation in and close-out of accident/incident investigations and root cause analysis

• Actively engage with the site execution teams, ensuring participation in corporate behavioural safety and intervention schemes, work to enhance communication and promote understanding of goals

Education

• Minimum BEng

• Preferable CEng, full member of Engineering Council recognised Institute

• Demonstrates a wide range of skills, knowledge and experience required of a professional mechanical engineer Work Experience

• Considerable relevant experience of the oil and gas industry, predominantly gained in an engineering and production operations environment.

• Good working knowledge and application of relevant UK oil and gas industry regulations.

• Familiarity with quality processes and the application of continuous improvement tools is desirable.

• Worked within operations or Service Company with specific rotating equipment expertise

• To be responsible for the development, maintenance and monitoring of all Risk Management activities and associated documents on multiple project scopes / business endeavours.

• Provide guidance to Project personnel in defining Risk Management objectives based on project objectives and support application of the risk process.

• Utilise a number of risk identification techniques in order to facilitate risk identification sessions

• Develop and implement risk assessment criteria as part of a project risk register.

• Assist Risk Owners with the selection of appropriate risk response strategies and development of action plans to address identified risks.

• To assist project or functional personnel in the familiarization and consistent application of Risk Management software tools and associated process.

• Facilitate Risk workshops and develop project Risk Registers which act as repositories for all risk related information.

• Conduct with Cost / Schedule Risk Analysis Workshop sessions, facilitating workshops and developing associated outputs.

• Support and encourage managers and business units in the use of Decision Analysis on projects where applicable

• Ensure the timely issue of accurate, updated reports and associated documents at the agreed intervals. • Regularly engage with project teams, attending and contributing to project meetings as deemed appropriate.

• Provide input to development in project Risk Registers

Qualifications/Training:

Essential:

• HNC / HND (in relevant discipline)

• IRM International Certificate in Risk Management (or an alternative risk qualification) Desirable:

• BA or BSc degree (min. 2:1) in Risk Management, alternative subjects considered can include: Project Management, Engineering, other analytical disciplines.

Maintenance Strategy Engineer - Aberdeen

Oil and gas operator currently have an opening for a Maintenance Strategy Engineer to join their team based in Aberdeen.

This is a contract role up to 12 months

• Ensure that the maintenance management system (SAP) meets the intent of the Performance Standards and Maintenance Strategies.

• Continual review, update and custody of all the UK Maintenance Strategies, ensuring that they are aligned and implemented within the maintenance management system.

• Lead and facilitate maintenance strategy reviews.

• Collaborate with the Integrated Operations teams to identify improvements in maintenance and reliability programmes to increase maintenance efficiency, critical equipment reliability and production uptime.

• Share and implement best practices across assets.

• Review and approve major changes to the maintenance management system content ensuring they are appropriately aligned to enable efficient scheduling and execution.

• Provide direction to Master Data Coordinator to ensure that modifications are recorded and implemented within the maintenance management system (Asset register, criticality assessment, planned maintenance routines etc) Technical Experience

• Good understanding of Maintenance Strategies and the Philosophy

• Business and commercially aware with the ability to derive the correct case for change as required

Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver adequate engineering documentation, including planning and execution, of relevant subsea construction and installation operations as part of a multi-discipline project team.

• Ensuring that relevant reviews of technical solutions are conducted

• Present technical solutions at design reviews and risk assessments on your installation work scope

• Proactively contribute to the project risk identification, assessment and management process

• Provide timely input into dynamic installation analysis as required.

• Provide timely input to structural discipline for any design work.

• Provide timely input to CAD/Design discipline for production of sketches and drawings related to your work scope.

• Specify the procurement items that are required for your work scope

• Perform subcontractor follow up for delivery of products or installation aids related to your work scope in an adequate and well documented manner

• Provide support on a range of SURF installation activities and products including ordering and delivery of SURF products (material, testing and manufacturing follow up)

• Prepare relevant scopes of work and specifications for tenders and projects, and support the follow up of ITTs (technical evaluations)

• Follow up subcontrators as required

• Depending on the project assignment; you may be given the lead responsibility for a particular work scope. If that is the case you are required to set goals and clear deliverables with the team that you are responsible for, and follow up accordingly.

• Provide technical support and guidance to other team members where relevant

• Offshore trips on board the Construction Vessels related to project execution

• Plan and organize work load for yourself and relevant team

• Produce adequate engineering & design documentation as required

• Ensure consistent, efficient and high-quality engineering driving safety and overall performance

• Provide technical support to Business Acquisition as required

• Deliver all work in line with the Business Management System

Qualifications

Min. 5 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas industry,

incl offshore construction work experience

College / University, M.Sc. or B.Sc in relevant subjects

The Role:

Provides direct support to the Fleet Operations Manager to ensure a consistent delivery of marine and DP operations fleet wide, while providing Vessel Masters and Business Units with support on marine and DP related issues Job Scope

• Assist Fleet Operations Manager in safe and efficient running of the fleet

• Ensure Company owned and managed vessels are operated in a safe, efficient and economical manner and in full compliance with Class, Statutory regulations, the ISM Code and ISO 9001; ISO14001 and ISO18001 Standards

• Provide support and guidance to Vessel Masters, Asset Operations Teams and Project Teams on marine and DP issues

• Ensure that Planned Maintenance System (Deck Department) is being operated and reported to high standard and is in compliance with the ISM Code, MLC 2006 and company procedures

• Ensure that all mandatory procedures i.e. Navigational Watch keeping, DP Operations, ISSOW are used effectively and outcomes available for audit purposes

• Prepare vessel repair specifications in association with the Vessel Superintendent Background/ Experience Required:

• Senior Marine Qualification (STCW II/2 or III/2 or equivalent)

• DP Operational experience of serving on offshore diving, Pipelay and/or construction vessels

• Proven knowledge of marine and DP systems, operations and legislation

• Proven knowledge of IMCA guidelines and industry best practices

Job-Specific Certification:

• Valid STCW COC and medical certificate

• Valid STCW Certificates and Offshore Survival

• Unlimited DP Certificate

This role is permanent

Duties:

Provide support on control systems fleet wide to allow operation, maintenance, upgrade and replacements.

Additionally to ensure all control systems are installed and maintained in compliance with legislation and statutory codes

Control System Design

• Concept design for new control systems (centralised, decentralised, dual redundant, safety control systems)

• Design and development of control system functional specifications (software, hardware and instrumentation)

• PLC programming, testing, installation and commissioning as required

• Design of HMI and SCADA interface/front end • Specification and configuration of VSD

• Development of safety control systems to relevant IEC standards to compliment process and ensure a robust control system is provided

• Generation of drawings, schematics, I/O lists, functional design specifications, tender documentation, testing, installation and commissioning documentation, operation and maintenance manuals to support each of the above stages Control System Support

• Support all aspects of control system maintenance and upgrades including all steps outlined in system design (above)

• Support all stages of design, testing, installation and commissioning of new and modified control systems

• Audit/investigation of existing control systems, establish functionality and criticality on existing assets

• Identify and manage obsolescence issues with control systems

• Support incident investigation into control system failures, including occasional out of hours support/travel as required

• Management of 3rd party vendors during design, procurement, production, testing, installation and commissioning of as build data stages. This will include direct supervision of 3rd party personnel on sites/vessels

• Develop and support maintenance, inspection and audit regime across all control systems within assets, incorporate into maintenance software

Qualifications:

Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics/Instrument Engineering Background: Essential:

• Several years in marine/offshore industry environment.

Working knowledge of the following or similar Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER), DNV Rules for Electrical Installation, IEC Electrical and control system standards

• Knowledge of primary movers and other large marine electrical installations

• Control systems experience including knowledge of programming, design and instrumentation of PLC, HMI, SCADA and VSD

• Understanding of Electrical protection, isolations and control system safety integration including installation and inspection procedures

• Software: familiarity of use with packages such as PLC, HMI, SCADA and VSD software

TASKS:

We are working with our client based in Aberdeen to source an experienced Contracts Engineer on a permanent basis.

The Contracts Engineer will provide contractual support to the designated projects including the tender, administration and maintenance of project specific contracts and the call off from federal agreements where applicable.

• Will have knowledge of commercial frameworks, good contract drafting and negotiation skills.

• The successful candidate will have knowledge of EU legislation and how it applies to the procurement of goods and services.

Junior Draughtsman x 2 - Aberdeen

We are working with our client who service the oil and gas sector and are based in Aberdeen, to source 2 x Junior Draughtsman

This is a contract role for 3 months

• Developing detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies/tools, and controls, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment

• Modifying and revising designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems

• Position instructions and comments onto drawings

• Drawing and document control ensuring good and accurate engineering information is created

Qualifications

• HNC in a Mechanical Engineering discipline

• Proficient in using 2D or 3D CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor
