Finance Assistant - Aberdeen

Our client based in Altens is looking for a permanent Finance Assistant to join their team.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Day to Day

  • Logging Purchases Orders raised by the company onto a register
  • Coding Suppliers invoices, checking against the PO and delivery note, and querying any discrepancies.
  • Scan Suppliers invoices onto D Capture system and then transfer to D3 (Digital Invoice logging system) Check invoices through the D3 system and prepare for auto import into Navision (Accounting software)
  • Check and reconcile supplier’s statements on a monthly basis and deal with any queries that may arise.
  • Create weekly UK and International payment runs to the suppliers and for wages, subcontractors and employee expenses.
  • Run daily bank statements and post bank transactions onto Navision on a daily basis and reconcile bank accounts.
  • Check employee expenses with receipts and credit card statements and enter expenses onto Navision.
  • Code and enter Sales invoices onto Navision and cashflow. Email or post sales invoices to customers.
  • Keep in touch with customers in order to exercise credit control. Respond to any queries from the customers.
  • Update and report the weekly cashflow to head office (Hamburg)

Month End

  • Post depreciation of fixed assets (including low cost assets)
  • Create journals for petty cash, receivables not due and other recurring journals.
  • Create a debtors/risk assessment report.
  • Posting sales accruals
  • Posting Stock accruals.
  • Posting Wages accruals
  • Check asset register and financial reports agree
  • Check P&L account
  • Check the cost accounting and financial reports agree
  • Prepare analysis of some balance sheet accounts.


EXPERIENCE

  • Proficient with Microsoft 2007
  • Strong finance background
  • Good administration and communication skills
  • Ability to work well with other members of the team
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Professional approach to all tasks
