1. Introduction

1.1 This Aberdeen Appointments Agency (AAA). Notice ("Notice") applies to this website ("Website") and to any websites, branded pages on third party platforms (such as Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter) and applications accessed or used through such websites or third party platforms (“AAA Sites”), which are operated by or on behalf of AAA, its subsidiaries and/or affiliated companies (hereinafter “AAA”, "we". "us", "our"). This Notice sets out how we collect and process information about you on the AAA Sites through the use of cookies. We use the term "cookies" in this Notice to refer to website cookies and to similar technologies that may collect information automatically when you visit the AAA (such as pixel tags, web beacons, device IDs and similar technologies).

2. What is a cookie?

2.1 A cookie is a small text file or a piece of information that may be stored on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Almost every website uses cookie technology. Cookies serve a number of purposes such as letting you navigate between webpages efficiently, remembering your preferences, and generally improving the user experience. Cookies may tell us, for example, whether you have visited our Website before or whether you are a new visitor. They can also help to ensure that adverts you see online are more relevant to you and your interests. This functionality makes cookies extremely useful to improve your user experience when you return to a website you have already visited.

3. How long do cookies last for?

3.1 Cookies can remain on your computer or mobile device for different periods of time. Some cookies are 'session cookies'. These cookies exist only while your browser is open and are deleted automatically once you close your browser. Other cookies are 'persistent cookies'. These cookies survive after your browser is closed until a defined expiration date. They can be used by websites to recognise your computer when you open your browser and browse the Internet again.

4. What other technologies are used to track my AAA visits?

4.1 We may also use other tracking technologies, such as pixel tags and web beacons, to better tailor the AAA Sites in order to provide a better service. These technologies usually work in conjunction with cookies. To disable cookies used on the AAA Sites, and therefore any other tracking technologies that work in conjunction with these cookies, please follow the instructions below.

5. What types of cookies do we use?

5.1 There are two broad categories of cookies.

5.2 Cookies that are essential for the operation of the AAA Sites, also known as Strictly Necessary Cookies, enable features without which you would not be able to use the AAA Sites as intended. Your consent is not required for the use of Strictly Necessary Cookies, which is why Strictly Necessary Cookies cannot be disabled using the features of or the links on the AAA Sites. However, you have the option to completely disable cookies in your browser at any time. The other category of cookies is cookies which are not essential to use the AAA Sites. Nevertheless, these cookies do still fulfil important functions. You may disable any of these cookies via your browser settings or by using the links provided in the list below. However, if you do so, various functions of the AAA Sites may be unavailable to you or may not work the way you want them to.

5.3 The specific types of cookies served through the AAA Sites are described below:
(a) Strictly Necessary Cookies: These cookies are necessary to provide you with services available through the AAA Sites and to use some of its features, such as access to secure areas. Without these cookies, services you have asked for, like stored passwords for log-ins, would not be possible.
(b) Analytics Cookies: These cookies collect information that is used in aggregate form to help us understand how the AAAp Sites are being used or how effective the AAA Sites are. This information will be used for the purpose of evaluating your use of the AAA, compiling reports on the AAA Site activity for the AAA Site operators and providing the AAA Site operators with other services relating to the AAA Site activity and internet usage.
(c) Functionality Cookies: These cookies collect information to help us customize the AAA Sites for you. They can be used to recognise you when you return to the AAA Sites. This enables the operator to personalise our content for you, greet you by name and remember your preferences (for example, your choice of language or region).
(d) Advertising cookies: These cookies are used to make our advertising messages more relevant to you. They perform functions like preventing the same ad from continuously reappearing, ensuring that ads are properly displayed for advertisers, and in some cases selecting advertisements that are based on your interests.
(e) Social Media Cookies: On some pages of the AAA Sites, third parties that provide applications through the AAA Sites may set their own cookies in order to track the success of their applications or customize applications for you. For example, when you follow the AAA using a social media button on a the AAA Site (e.g. Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn), the social network that has created the button will record that you have done this. Because of how cookies work, we cannot access these cookies, nor can the third parties access the data in cookies used by us. Some pages of the AAA Sites may also contain embedded content, such as video content from YouTube, and these sites may set their own cookies.
(f) Beacons and Widgets: Web beacons operate in a similar way to cookies and are placed on websites or in an e-mail in order to monitor the behaviour of the user visiting the website or sending the e-mail.

6. How else do we use cookies?

6.1 For further details about how we use information collected by cookies, please see our Privacy Policy.

7. How to control or delete cookies

7.1 You can control cookies served through the AAA Sites using any of the following means:
(a) Industry opt-out sites. You can also refuse cookies served for advertising purposes by many of our third party advertising partners by visiting either: http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or http://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/.
(b) Browser settings. While most web browsers accept cookies by default, you can change your browser's settings to reject and/or to remove cookies. As the precise means by which you may do this will vary from browser to browser, please visit your browser's help menu for more information.

7.2 Please also note that if you choose to reject or remove cookies, doing so may prevent certain features or services of the AAA Sites from working properly and therefore affect your experience while on the AAA Sites. Areas of the AAA Sites that can potentially incorporate content from third parties, and which therefore place third-party cookies, will not be available to you. If that is the case you will be informed accordingly. Since your cookie opt-out preferences are also stored in a cookie in your website browser, please also note that if you delete all cookies, use a different browser, or buy a new computer, you will need to renew your opt-out choices.

8. Changes to the Notice

International recruitment on your doorstep

For over 25 years AAA have been placing Financial Professionals internationally.

Our reach to date has been over 20 countries and it’s growing.  Our World Wide network of candidates and knowledge of international markets make us a key partner if you are looking to augment your current team.  We recruit local candidates and expats, rotation and resident.  Sourcing difficult to find candidates is our Craft.

THE TEAM
Our craft of international recruitment has been honed over 40 years of uncompromising dedication to the businesses we work for.  Along the way we have developed a specialist international team with the dedication, experience and talent to rise to our high expectations.

RIGHT FROM THE START
From the initial meeting with any client, we make things clear from the start.  Aaa international finance outlines the approach that will best suit your distinctive business needs and constraints.  We work in an open and transparent manner, walking you through the process that has the best chance of success for your business.

THE SERVICE
The craft of recruitment takes an expert team, but for the highest levels of service and continuity, you will have one single point of contact.  Your dedicated consultant will ensure the highest levels of customer service, from conception to completion of each recruitment project, and even beyond that to make sure everything is running smoothly after placement.

THE FIT
Aaa international always makes sure that candidates have the knowledge, experience and skills to excel in any role we place them, but we go further than that, and consider the following just as important for the perfect ‘FIT’.

Culture
Aligning the values, beliefs and behaviours of candidates to companies.

Career
Discovering the short, medium and long-term goals of the candidate and matching them to the company’s vision.

Role
There is more to a job than a set of duties.  Looking at the personal preferences and attitudes of the candidate, as well as the culture and people they’ll be interacting with, is key to successful international recruitment.

Unfolding the process

There are six stages to the aaa International Finance process, each one moulded to fit the requirements of the role.  We take everything into account.

DEFINING THE ROLE
Employing face-to-face service and tools gained from over 40 years of recruitment experience, we delve deeper than the standard job role to define the person that will best suit your business and culture.

TAILORED GLOBAL ADVERTISING
Using knowledge gained from a multitude of previous international recruitment projects, we tailor our advertising to the country in question, utilizing both local and international resources.

PROACTIVE TALENT SOURCING
Using numerous tools at our disposal.

MULTI-STAGE SCREENING
Strict screening process often involving multiple stages including bespoke questionnaire, telephone interview and ‘face-to-face’ videoconference for internationally-based candidates.

PRESENTATION
Only those candidates with the ‘FIT’ and who have progressed through our crafted, client-specific process shall be presented to you.  You can expect a candidate that understands your business, its values and the challenges you face.  We enable open and frank two-way discussions revealing as much as possible about the candidate so you can make a truly informed choice.

We are also happy to go above and beyond and assist with any further arrangements you require.

OFFER AND AFTERCARE
When your offer has been accepted, aaa International Finance still provides ongoing support and protects your appointments against counter-offers by applying the Cycle of Resignation™

Our History

One of the secrets of longevity and success in any business is the ability to adapt and change.

Our business is currently in its 5th decade of operation and has seen enormous changes and development in the work place.  We are proud of the fact that we have been at the forefront of these changes and have led the field when many of our competitors have fallen away.

Our ability to adapt and change has been crucial, however, our Directors firmly believe the major reasons for our continued success lie in values deeper than merely the ability to foresee change and act accordingly.

Our Directors and Management team share a common vision and goal;  To be the best in our business and to deliver our service to our customers in an exceptional way.

Our most recent marketing statement to our customers relating the craft of origami to the Craft of Recruitment resonates with our belief that recruitment is all about people, not technology.  Technology is a great tool in the trained hand, but is no substitute for human knowledge and touch.

Our Craft involves meeting you, our Customers, whether client or candidate, and interacting in such a way that we understand your needs, ambitions and challenges, and introducing you to people (not CVs) and opportunities (not job specs) that will match your goals, aspirations and needs.

It’s a Craft, not box ticking or online searching, but offering you genuine advice and service in a professional, personal way.

After working together since early 2014, John Innes and Dave Bruce have invested in and joined the Board of AAA in early 2015.

For some time AAA has been developing their offering to clients and the additions to the Board of John and Dave make a significant statement about the aspirations of the business.

John Innes worked with AAA back in the 1980’s before embarking on an entrepreneurial career. This culminated in his position as CEO with The Amor Group which with his management team, sold to Lockheed Martin in 2013. John brings to the business a vision for taking the company to a new level of service delivery and expertise

Dave Bruce was COO of Amor Energy, a £30 million turnover division that provided high level manpower to the Energy Business in the UK and overseas. Dave brings a wealth of knowledge in delivery of high end service to clients and driving innovation and rigour to our business. The new management team is greatly excited about how AAA will offer customers an unmatched, innovative and fully engaged service in the new oil price era.

Courses

New courses

Continually innovating and constantly creating new courses based on our clear grasp of the current development needs of our clients.

These are just a few we have successfully launched in the last year:

Scheduled courses

We offer a timetable of training but we know that these fixed events can be difficult so we constantly review and adjust our dates to reflect the needs of potential clients – often scheduling dates as a result of client’s staff availability.

We would be delighted to have a conversation with you about any of our scheduled courses wit ha view to setting dates that specifically meet your needs.

Projects

Most of our work focuses on bespoke development projects for our clients.

These projects involve a real understanding of our clients culture, business objectives and staff development needs. To an extent that we are often seen as an integral part of the organisation – reflecting the values and behaviours inherent to our clients success.

In the last 2 years projects include:

Maersk Oil North Sea – Development and delivery of “Safe to Go” behavioural safety programme.

Halliburton UK – LMD, leadership management and development programme. Continuum worked closely with senior manager within Halliburton to develop and then deliver a highly praised leadership programme reflecting the core behaviours of leaders key to their business success.

AkerSolutions – working with their development team to create a leadership programme for future leaders specifically related to the businesses core values. “Becoming a Leader” was a notable success.

PACT – Promoting Accountability Together – again for Halliburton, this ongoing project, driven from or understanding of this client’s business strategy, aims to encourage individuals to take personal accountability for their actions whatever their role.

We have also integrated development programmes into our “Craft of Recruitment” with the aim of:

unfolding the process

There are six stages to the aaa executive process. These services have been honed over 40 years to give you a smooth, consistent experience with proven results.

01 DEFINING THE ROLE

Employing face-to-face service and aaa executive tools, we delve deeper than the standard job role to define the person that will best suit your business and culture.

02 SEARCH

This is where the aaa executive team really differentiates itself from the competition. Our deep knowledge of your industry and trusted contacts within it give us a unique understanding of your issues. The rest is just honest hard work, dedication and time.

03 INTERVIEW

aaa executive will select prime candidates and speak to them as if we were part of your organisation. Moulding our techniques and questions to your values, our interviews are focused on the aaa executive ‘FIT’. With unique behaviour-based criteria, we assess people’s motivations and the role’s accountabilities.

04 TESTING

With specially designed aaa executive psychometric testing, we probe candidates for the right communication skills, personality and leadership traits for your organisation. We then build a work expectations profile to discuss the ‘FIT’ with both you and the candidate.

05 PRESENTATION

With our stringent process of discovery, aaa executive presents you the person, not the CV. You can expect a candidate that understands your business, its values and the challenges you face. We enable open and frank two-way discussions revealing as much as possible about the candidate so you can make a truly informed choice.

06 OFFER & AFTERCARE

When your offer has been accepted, aaa executive still provides ongoing support and protects your appointments against counter-offers by applying the Cycle of ResignationTM.

Our craft of executive recruitment has been honed over 40 years of uncompromising dedication to the businesses we work for. Along the way we have developed a specialist executive team with the dedication, experience and talent to rise to our high expectations.

Right from the start

From the initial meeting with any client, we make things clear from the start. aaa executive outlines the approach that will best suit your distinctive business needs and constraints.

The ‘fit’

aaa executive always makes sure that candidates have the knowledge, experience and skills to excel in any role we place them. But we go further than that, and consider the following just as important for the perfect aaa executive ‘FIT’.

Culture

Aligning the values, beliefs and behaviours of candidates to companies.

Career

Discovering the short, medium and long-term goals of the candidate and matching them to the company’s vision.

Role

There is more to a job role than a set of duties. Looking at the personal preferences and attributes of the candidate, as well as the culture and people they’ll be interacting with, is key to successful executive recruitment.

Developing our craft

Like grand masters in the fine art of origami, aaa has finely tuned its recruitment skills with decades of dedication.

Unlike impersonal job search sites, we read between the lines. An unrivalled knowledge of businesses and candidates allows us to go beyond the normal box ticking and match working cultures with personal characters. For a crafted professional service, come to aaa.

Testimonials

What some of our Clients and Candidates have been saying about us:

Following on from my PhD and whilst searching for a position in industry, AAA stood out from other agencies I’d contacted by inviting me for a face-to-face interview. I met Sasha, who quickly established what my core strengths were, my aspirations, and relevant, transferable experience. Sasha was then able to correlate this with current open positions available from a broad number of contacts. Not all job descriptions made it immediately obvious that I would make a suitable candidate for the role, but by discussing it together and thinking a little outside of the box, Sasha helped in planning a tailored covering letter that explained to the potential employers what I had to offer. After a single meeting Sasha was able to secure me an interview with my future employer. Had I not had the careful assistance from Sasha that I did, I would have found this initial introduction to my employer very difficult if not impossible. I’m very grateful to Sasha whose approachability and professionalism made AAA the only agency I would recommend to others in the future. - Barry Taylor | Technical Test Analyst | Petrotechnics Limited

I have found Aberdeen Appointments Agency to be a first class recruitment agency. The quality of service provided has been excellent, the staff very friendly and committed. They listened to all my requirements when I was looking for a recent replacement to my finance team and matched them perfectly. I would have no hesitation in recommending anyone looking for a good value and quality service to go to AAA as their first port of call. - Lesley Blackstock, Finance Manager, The International School of Aberdeen

"I have dealt with AAA on a number of occasions whether it be of a personal nature or looking for top class candidates. In all of my dealings with AAA, Mark and Grant have been the consumate professionals. Their approach to ensuring I got the right match was unparrallelled and their assisstance, advice and professionalism did not go unnoticed. A first class company with first class staff." - Des Caldicott FinstLM MCGI, UK HSEQ Manager

"I have built an excellent relationship with AAA over the years. As a candidate with limited availability, the temp team at AAA have never failed to place me within extremely well-suited opportunities that have developed and enhanced my professional career. The temp team have gone above and beyond matching candidates to jobs, they strive to meet the requirements of both the client and the candidate to ensure that each placement is a match. I have been a candidate for various Aberdeen based recruitment agencies, but none are comparable to the excellent staff and high quality service at AAA" - Ashleigh Duncan, Operations Assistant

"AAA has been my go to agency in Aberdeen for the past nineteen years! I have always found the level of professional service provided, both as candidate and client, to be exceptional. Currently working with Kris Stuart, I find he embodies the ethos of the AAA culture through his ability to gain a full understanding of individual requirements which, when coupled with his unrivaled knowledge of the Aberdeen market, allows him to reach the right people timeously, always exceeding expectations" - Claire Drummond, Tax Manager

"Having been working with agencies in Aberdeen since 2007 I can honestly say that AAA are the best at what they do. I've been on both sides of the coin as an employer and employee and find their approach very professional and personal. My latest role overseas was done with Craig Mackenzie and as always he understood what I was looking for and his understanding of the local market is second to none. Just a simple call and he will keep you updated with an honest assessment and with my latest job role being complicated dealing with an employer in Singapore he was always looking out for my best interests. Six months on and its the best role I've been in. Thanks to AAA and the team!" - Jim Goudie, International Accountant

"I was given a face to face meeting very soon after making contact and received a personalised service throughout. The people at aaa think out of the box and put the client first rather than just chasing fees." - Steve Homer, Programme Manager

"There is only one call to make when needing some new talent to grow your business...... That's to AAA. They attract the best candidates, Listen to what the customer needs and deliver the value accordingly. Great firm to deal with and guaranteed professional recruitment solutions." Paul Goodchild, Managing Director, Sparks Mechanical Services

"I've dealt with aaa both as a candidate and a client (Full disclosure: my partner works for aaa). As a candidate they are always keeping you up to date with the progress of your applications, and attempt to get valuable feedback from interviews at every opportunity. As I client, I've found that the quality of CVs sent are generally superior to the competition. The Consultants also go out of their way to understand the requirements of the position in order to ensure relevant CVs are sent. Providing detailed feedback on rejected CVs allows them to further refine their search criteria, reducing irrelevant CVs as time goes on (A great benefit for ongoing recruitment)." - Fergal Reilly, Senior Application Developer

"AAA have helped us build our team from an initial 3 to currently 12 in an increasingly difficult software development market. The level of candidate we see from AAA is always of an extremely high level, it’s easy to see this is due to the time and care given to every candidate – and indeed employer." - Neil Paterson, Software Engineering Manager, Brightree LLC

"I also worked closely with Sasha at AAA when I was looking for a new challenge last year: Sasha initially called me and asked me to meet him. I remember thinking that having to go and have a face to face meeting seemed like a pointless exercise. I mean, why wouldn't they just submit my CV and take it from there? Anyway, I met with Sasha and it was any thing but a pointless exercise, we had a very thorough discussion and got to know each other, he clearly had also gone to some lengths to get to know the companies which he was recruiting for, as a result he was able to make a suitable introduction on my behalf......and the rest is history. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend AAA" - Matt Nicoll, Key Account Manager

"AAA, in particular Sasha and Rachel, had a "we won't give up attitude" with regards to finding me my 'perfect job.' They're both very easy to talk to and it's obvious they enjoy what they do as they were always enthusiastic and encouraging. I have already, and I will continue to recommend AAA to others as I am very grateful for the professional and friendly service. Thanks again." - Melissa Burnett, Media Developer

"Working with AAA originally as a hirer then as a job-seeker allowed me to see both sides of their game. Quite simply put, I have never been disappointed. Effortlessly remembering applicant details on an extremely personal level means they are already matching candidates to your criteria as you are describing it to them. Please don’t let the friendly and easy to talk to demeanor of their consultants fool you. Under the hood it’s all strictly business. Sasha said on my first meeting that he had ‘the perfect job for me’. I am not exaggerating in the slightest when I say he was 100% correct. I now have the perfect balance of work, play & stimulation. I dont just love Monday, Monday loves me." Joe Pykett, Technology Consultant
